How to play Yamb online

Yamb is a dice score game where you roll five dice, choose scoring combinations, and fill a score sheet. The goal is to maximize your total points across all categories.

Quick start

  1. Create a room and invite friends with a link.
  2. Each turn, roll up to three times and lock dice between rolls.
  3. Pick a category and record your score to end the turn.

Scoring categories

Typical categories include the number rows (ones through sixes) plus combinations like straight, full house, four of a kind, and yamb (five of a kind). Each category can be used once.

  • Numbers: sum of dice matching the row (ones, twos, and so on).
  • Two pairs, full house, and four of a kind.
  • Straight and yamb for higher bonus scores.

Column rules

Yamb is often played with multiple columns. Some columns must be filled top to bottom, others bottom to top, and a free column allows any order. Plan your rolls so you do not block your best scoring options later.

Multiplayer tips

  • Use the early rounds to secure the number rows for bonuses.
  • Save risky combinations for your free column when possible.
  • Track opponents and adjust your goals toward higher-value categories.
